Emily is a Brooklyn-based actor, singer, and voiceover artist with a BA in Drama from Vassar College. A former (mediocre) middle school tennis player and gymnast, Emily quite literally stumbled upon acting when a wrist and knee injury led her to enroll in theatre camp in lieu of gymnastics camp, at her mom's urging. It was the best summer of her young life, and she's been acting, singing, and stumbling ever since.
Emily is passionate about storytelling in all forms: theatre, musical theatre, film, TV, commercials, voiceover, and living room karaoke. Some of her favorite credits include Jackie in Theresa Rebeck's Mauritius at the Bridge Theatre, the National tour of Curious George (dir. Tony nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge & Josh Walden), the Drama Desk Award winning world premiere of The Mysteries at The Flea Theater (dir. Ed Sylvanus Iskandar), Shrek the Musical (Fiona) at the Grandstreet Theatre in Helena, MT, the indie feature film Prom King, 2010 (New Vision Award at the 2017 Cinequest Film Festival), and TV appearances on Investigation Discovery's On the Case With Paula Zahn, truTV's Hack My Life, and the Science Channel. Emily was also the face of TaxAct's 2017 commercial campaign and Panera Bread's 2018 commercial campaign.
A lover of new works, Emily has performed in a handful of new plays and musicals, most recently originating the role of "Depression" in several concert versions of Rachel Griffin's new stigma-busting mental health musical, We Have Apples, at Feinstein's/54 Below, New York Theatre Barn, and the 47th Street Theatre. The musical has been featured on CBS National News, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, and more. Emily also recently originated the lead role of "Elyse" in the world premiere of Stirrups at the Hudson Guild Theatre. She can regularly be seen workshopping new plays and musicals around the city.
Emily has trained at The Barrow Group, MN Acting Studio, The Upright Citizens Brigade, and the Moscow Art Theater. She is a proud member of The Actors' Equity Association!
